964 valve adjust schedule
Short story -
Looking at a car with copies of maintenance at a well known local shop going back to 46K miles. That receipt shows a valve adjust along with R/R for clutch and dual mass flywheel replacement. About a dozen receipts since then, oil changes, brakes, misc repairs, another clutch replacement that looks like a non-dual mass set up. Can't seem to find any additional valve clearance checks or adjustments on receipts. Car is now at 91K Did the 3.6's in he early 964's (1991) have a different valve adjust schedule than the earlier cars? Is this type of interval common if the tech doesn't suspect an issue and doesn't recommend? The current owner is not DIY. |

Thanks Don. I did find that thread in my search, the receipts I saw show Mobil 1, but it appears as though it has now been 45K since a valve adjust. Maybe they've been checked since and I missed it, I'll have to go back and look.

Just want to make sure, but reading through the ablove link, there is no mention of the clearance?
The 964 manual says .10 mm, but I know the earlier cars are .08mm right? Just want to make sure and add to my notes. Also anyone have a good link or instructions for changing the engine belts? Thanks!
